Captain Hood’s Fishing Report – 8-7-14
The good thing about Bertha is that it pushed the fish closer in shore. The Spanish and King bite is red hot.
They are thick in the inlets just off the beaches of Bogue Inlet, around the cape. Dan O’Conner caught A nice 28lb King on the Bogue Pier and anglers are catching their limit of Spanish in the late afternoon.
The surf fishing is just as good. There are lots of Sea Mullet, Blues, Flounder, Spots and some Puppy Drum.
The Flounder bite is on in the inlets on the rock jetties AR 315 back on Shack and in the Bogue Inlet.
The Drum are in the Hay Stacks Core sound in the surf and along the Sholes at the cape.
